Mingma Nurbu Sherpa

Born in the Himalayan village of Makalu-4, Sankhuwasabha, Nepal, Mingma Nurbu Sherpa developed a deep passion for the mountains from an early age. Growing up in one of Nepal's renowned mountaineering regions, he learned the values of resilience, discipline, and respect for the high Himalayas, eventually building a successful career as a professional climbing Sherpa and expedition guide.

Mingma began his professional mountaineering career at a young age and achieved his first successful ascent of Mount Everest in 2011. Over the following years, he established himself as one of Nepal's experienced high-altitude guides, successfully summiting Mount Everest 12 times while also climbing several of the world's highest and most technically demanding mountains, including K2, Lhotse, Makalu, Dhaulagiri I, Gasherbrum I, Manaslu, and Ama Dablam.

With more than 15 years of expedition experience, Mingma has guided international climbers across the Himalaya and Karakoram through challenging alpine terrain, glaciers, icefalls, and high-altitude camps. His expertise includes expedition leadership, technical climbing, fixed rope operations, acclimatization planning, and risk management, enabling climbers to pursue their goals with confidence and safety.

As a senior mountaineering guide at AltiPro Adventures, Mingma is respected for his calm decision-making, professionalism, and dedication to every expedition. Fluent in Nepali, English, Hindi, and Sherpa, he works closely with climbers from around the world, providing exceptional guidance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and mountain ethics. His extensive experience, technical skills, and commitment to client success make him an invaluable member of the AltiPro Adventures team.
