Dawa Chiring Sherpa

Born in the mountain village of Makalu-2, Sankhuwasabha, Nepal, Dawa Chhiring Sherpa developed a passion for mountaineering while growing up in the shadow of the Himalayas. Surrounded by towering peaks and inspired by the rich climbing heritage of the Sherpa community, he began pursuing high-altitude mountaineering at an exceptionally young age. His determination, talent, and dedication quickly established him as one of Nepal's most promising young climbers.

In 2021, Dawa achieved international recognition by successfully summiting Mount Everest at just 16 years and 9 months old, becoming one of the youngest people ever to reach the highest point on Earth. This remarkable achievement marked the beginning of an outstanding mountaineering career and demonstrated his exceptional physical endurance, technical ability, and mental resilience in one of the world's harshest environments.

Since his historic Everest ascent, Dawa has continued to build an impressive climbing résumé. He has successfully summited Mount Everest three times and has climbed seven of the world's fourteen 8,000-meter peaks, including Everest, Makalu, Manaslu, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Kanchenjunga, and Lhotse. His mountaineering experience also includes successful ascents of renowned technical and trekking peaks such as Ama Dablam, Mera Peak, Lobuche Peak, and Dhampus Peak, giving him extensive experience across a wide range of Himalayan terrain.

Throughout his career, Dawa has worked with both international and national expedition teams, guiding climbers through challenging alpine environments while assisting with route preparation, high-altitude logistics, acclimatization, fixed rope operations, and summit-day support. His calm decision-making, strong work ethic, and focus on client safety have earned him the trust of climbers from around the world.

To complement his practical climbing experience, Dawa has completed professional training in First Aid, High Altitude Sickness Management, Rescue Techniques, Introductory Rock Climbing, and Trekking Guide Training through organizations including the Korea Tours and Trekking Operator Association of Nepal (KT TOAN), Nepal Mountaineering Instructors Association (NMIA), and Nepal Mountain Academy (NMA). These certifications strengthen his ability to manage emergencies and provide professional support during high-altitude expeditions.

Despite his young age, Dawa has already established himself as an accomplished high-altitude guide with experience on some of the world's most demanding mountains. Fluent in both Nepali and English, he communicates effectively with climbers from diverse backgrounds and is known for his friendly personality, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to expedition safety.

Dawa's long-term ambition is to become one of the few climbers to successfully summit all fourteen of the world's 8,000-meter peaks. With every expedition, he continues to gain valuable experience while inspiring aspiring mountaineers through his achievements, determination, and passion for the Himalayas.
